Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held at
Sonning Common Village Hall on
Sunday 23rd November 2014 at 1.30 p.m.
Attendance
32 members attended and apologies for absence were received from Julie and
Richard Crawford, Chris Howlett, Barbara d'Angelo, Alice Ayers, Carol
Saunders, Pauline Fisher, Cyril & Elaine Proctor
Minutes of the AGM held on 3rd November 2013
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved without change.
Annual report of the committee
The chairman thanked the organisers of the AGM; Pauline Fisher for buying the
food, John Stoves for buying the drinks, Sue Spires, Susan Twitchett, Hilary
Jensen, Pauline Fisher and George Saffrey for the soup and all those who
assisted in any way.
The Chairman presented the Annual Report on behalf of the committee from
October 2013 to September 2014. The main points were:
The full committee met four times and there was one formal
subcommittee meeting, as well as the usual ad hoc planning for events.
December saw the launch of our website
Introduction of a number of indoor social events for the winter months. In
June we had our first coach trip for a number of years and as a result we
will be running another one in December.
Thanks were given to committee members for their contribution
throughout the year with special mention of Barbara D'Angelo, who is
leaving the committee at this AGM. Barbara has done a marvellous job
organising our holidays
.Membership had fallen from 261 to 250, but the figures fluctuate. We
are keen to increase membership and hand out the leaflet Join the
Ramblers to new members.
Walk leaders and leader partnerships have been sustained at 22. Again
we managed to offer a total of 94 walks as last year and walked a total of
536 miles compared with 583 last year
Numerous social events: Autumn walking weekend in Malvern, Annual
Buffet Lunch in November, Fish and Chip supper and Quiz in February,
Walk Leaders’ Supper in March, Overseas walking week in Slovenia in
June, Coach Walk to Avebury in June, and the Summer Buffet Ramble in
July. Thanks were given to all the organisers of these events.
Statement of accounts for 2013/2014
The Treasurer presented his report and the duly examined Statement of
Accounts and Balance Sheet for the year. These were approved by the
meeting.
Appointment of independent examiner for 2014/2015
The meeting approved the re-appointment of Peter Worsley as Independent
Examiner for the coming year.

The following were elected:

Footpath Officer: Peter Twitchett
Countryside Officer: Ray Clayton
Committee Members: Eric Ayers, Hilary Jensen,

Appointment of representative to the Berkshire Area Executive
No appointment made, to be a shared task amongst the committee.

Walk Leaders phone numbers. The programme sent to members has walk
leaders contact phone numbers, but on any document placed on the website
or distributed or displayed outside the membership, the contact number is
Ray’s.
