{"id":"69f8d453633073c9d17b0534","title":"Agm2014minutes","path":"reports/2015/2015-11-01-pang-valley-ramblers-walk-lunch-and-agm/agm2014minutes","contentMarkdown":"# AGM 2014 Minutes\n\nRegistered Charity No 1093577\n\nThe Ramblers` Association\n\nPang Valley Group\n\nMinutes of the Annual General Meeting held at\n\nSonning Common Village Hall on\n\nSunday 23rd November 2014 at 1.30 p.m.\n\nAttendance\n\n32 members attended and apologies for absence were received from Julie and\n\nRichard Crawford, Chris Howlett, Barbara d'Angelo, Alice Ayers, Carol\n\nSaunders, Pauline Fisher, Cyril & Elaine Proctor\n\nMinutes of the AGM held on 3rd November 2013\n\nThe minutes of the previous meeting were approved without change.\n\nAnnual report of the committee\n\nThe chairman thanked the organisers of the AGM; Pauline Fisher for buying the\n\nfood, John Stoves for buying the drinks, Sue Spires, Susan Twitchett, Hilary\n\nJensen, Pauline Fisher and George Saffrey for the soup and all those who\n\nassisted in any way.\n\nThe Chairman presented the Annual Report on behalf of the committee from\n\nOctober 2013 to September 2014. The main points were:\n\n The full committee met four times and there was one formal\n\nsubcommittee meeting, as well as the usual ad hoc planning for events.\n\n December saw the launch of our website\n\n Introduction of a number of indoor social events for the winter months. In\n\nJune we had our first coach trip for a number of years and as a result we\n\nwill be running another one in December.\n\n Thanks were given to committee members for their contribution\n\nthroughout the year with special mention of Barbara D'Angelo, who is\n\nleaving the committee at this AGM. Barbara has done a marvellous job\n\norganising our holidays\n\n .Membership had fallen from 261 to 250, but the figures fluctuate. We\n\nare keen to increase membership and hand out the leaflet Join the\n\nRamblers to new members.\n\n Walk leaders and leader partnerships have been sustained at 22. Again\n\nwe managed to offer a total of 94 walks as last year and walked a total of\n\n536 miles compared with 583 last year\n\n Numerous social events: Autumn walking weekend in Malvern, Annual\n\nBuffet Lunch in November, Fish and Chip supper and Quiz in February,\n\nWalk Leaders’ Supper in March, Overseas walking week in Slovenia in\n\nJune, Coach Walk to Avebury in June, and the Summer Buffet Ramble in\n\nJuly. Thanks were given to all the organisers of these events.\n\nStatement of accounts for 2013/2014\n\nThe Treasurer presented his report and the duly examined Statement of\n\nAccounts and Balance Sheet for the year. These were approved by the\n\nmeeting.\n\nAppointment of independent examiner for 2014/2015\n\nThe meeting approved the re-appointment of Peter Worsley as Independent\n\nExaminer for the coming year.\n\nElection of officers and other committee members\n\nThe following were elected:\n\nChairman:                  Chris Howlett\n\nSecretary:                 Kay Troughton\n\nTreasurer:                 John Stoves\n\nMembership Secretary:      Susan Twitchett\n\nFootpath Officer:          Peter Twitchett\n\nCountryside Officer:       Ray Clayton\n\nCommittee Members:         Eric Ayers, Hilary Jensen,\n\nBrian Waite, Michael Howes\n\nAppointment of representative to the Berkshire Area Executive\n\nNo appointment made, to be a shared task amongst the committee.\n\nAny Other Business\n\nWalk Leaders phone numbers.
