Future walk programme compilation.

Overview

This new platform provides a much more stable environment and also has the advantages of improved support and a look and feel that is closer to the Ramblers style. This new environment will mean a change in the way we compile our walks programme.

Submitting a walk

There are two methods for creating walks. If someone has led the same walk previously you can copy the walk, if it is a new walk then you will need to enter all of the information.

On the Walks page Click on “Cards View" to bring up the dropdown list and select “Add non-Sunday Walk”. This creates the walk and shows a series of tabs as shown below which allow details of the walk to be entered.

Use the "Copy..." Tab if you are planning a walk that has previously been in a programme and skip to Section 2.

Section 1 - Creating a New Walk

  1. Click “Main Details” and enter:
  1. Click "Walk Details" and enter:
  1. “Related Links” – nothing needs to be entered on this tab.
  2. Click “Leader” and enter:
  1. “Features” - This optional tab allows you to indicate the Facilities, Transport and Accessibility for the walk.

At any point you can click “Save” to save the walk and pick it up again later.

Once you are happy with the walk click “Request Approval” to notify the Walks Coordinator your walk is ready to be approved.

Section 2 - Copying a Walk

The procedure is similar to Creating a New Walk.

  1. Click on “Cards View” to bring up the dropdown list and select “Add non-Sunday walk.
  2. The “Main Details” tab is shown, enter:
  1. Click “Copy…”

This will display a screen showing previous walks led by you that are available to be copied:

  1. Select the walk to be copied in the “Copy from … available walks” field. Click on the arrow at the right-hand side to display the available walks. The list can be filtered by:
  1. Details of the selected walk will be copied. Any required changes can be made by clicking on the appropriate tab. See the instructions for “Creating a New Walk” for information on setting the fields

At any point you can click “Save” to save the walk and pick it up again later.

Once you are happy with the walk click “Request Approval” to notify the Walks Coordinator your walk is ready to be approved.
