This new environment will mean a change in the way we compile our walks programme.\n\n#### <strong>Submitting a walk</strong>\n\nThere are two methods for creating walks. If someone has led the same walk previously you can copy the walk, if it is a new walk then you will need to enter all of the information. \n\nOn the <a href=\"https://pang-valley.ngx-ramblers.org.uk/walks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Walks</a>  page Click on “<strong>Cards View</strong>\" to bring up the dropdown list and select “<strong>Add non-Sunday Walk</strong>”.   This creates the walk and shows a series of tabs as shown below which allow details of the walk to be entered.\n\n###### Edit existing walk Awaiting walk details from leader page\n\nMain Details | Walk Details | Related Links | Leader | Features | Images | History | Copy...\n\nUse the \"Copy...\"  Tab if you are planning a walk that has previously been in a programme and skip to Section 2.\n\n#### <strong>Section 1 - Creating a New Walk</strong>\n\n1. Click “<strong>Main Details”</strong> and enter:\n\n- Walk Date\n- Start Time\n- Distance\n- Avg mph. (The default speed is 2.5mph but you can speed it up or slow it down.)\n- Walk Title\n- Description\n\n2. Click \"<strong>Walk Details</strong>\" and enter:\n\n- Grade/Difficulty - leisurely, moderate, etc.\n- Walk Type - Circular/Linear.\n- Starting Location - can be entered as:\n  - A Starting Location such as \"Theale Village hall\"\n  - or a  Postcode\n  - or a Grid Reference\n- A map will be displayed corresponding to the location entered, the starting point can be refined by moving the pin..\n\n3. <strong>“Related Links”</strong> – nothing needs to be entered on this tab.\n4. Click <strong>“Leader”</strong> and enter:\n\n- Walk Leader - the leader’s name as you wish your name to be shown. If you have joint leaders separate the names with a semi colon\n- Contact Phone\n- Contact Email\n- Walks Manager contact name – Click the “Me” button to default your name into this field\n\n5. <strong>“Features” -</strong> This optional tab allows you to indicate the Facilities, Transport and Accessibility for the walk.\n\nAt any point you can click “<strong>Save</strong>” to save the walk and pick it up again later.\n\nOnce you are happy with the walk click “<strong>Request Approval</strong>” to notify the Walks Coordinator your walk is ready to be approved.\n\n#### <strong>Section 2 - Copying a Walk</strong>\n\nThe procedure is similar to Creating a New Walk.\n\n1. Click “<strong>Copy</strong>…”\n\nThis will display a screen showing previous walks led by you that are available to be copied:\n\n- To copy a walk led by a different walk leader start typing the leader’s name in the Walk leader field or click the down arrow at the right-hand side to select from a list of walk leaders.\n- Clicking the x on the right-hand side will clear the Walk leader field and display a list of all walks that are available to be copied.\n\n4. Select the walk to be copied in the “<strong>Copy from … available walks</strong>” field. Click on the arrow at the right-hand side to display the available walks. The list can be filtered by:\n\n- entering a date e.g. 29 May 2022\n- a partial date e.g. June 2019\n- a year e.g. 2023\n- the title of the walk or partial title e.g. Pangbourne will show all walks with Pangbourne in the title\n\n5. Details of the selected walk will be copied. Any required changes can be made by clicking on the appropriate tab.
